Birmingham Vida Nueva
Vida Nueva (Spanish for "New Life") is a youth weekend which concentrates closely on the person and teachings of Jesus Christ. VN explores basic Christian beliefs to provide those who attend the weekend a deeper and more meaningful relationship with Christ as they experience and share His love in a dynamic way. VN empowers young men and women to become christian leaders in their communities of influence. VN is a tool that the Holy Spirit uses to transform lives.
Vida Nueva begins Friday afternoon and ends the following Sunday evening. The Vida Nueva team leading the weekend is composed of former attendees of Vida Nueva, Tres Dias, Chysallis or similar youth weekends, who have volunteered their time for weeks of preparation by working and praying together as a unit. Vida Nueva presents the basics of Christian life and the meaning of living the Christian ideal and its application in our daily lives. Vida Nueva is centered around lay and clergy talks. Each talk is discussed by table groups. The basic atmosphere of Vida Nueva is one of love, Christian fellowship, singing, laughing and worship.
All young men and women, from age 15 to age 20 at the beginning of the weekend, who are seeking a deeper and more meaningful relationship with Jesus Christ, are welcome to attend a Vida Nueva weekend. There are separate weekends held for young men and young women. Each attendee must be sponsored by someone who has previously attended a Vida Nueva, Tres Dias or Cursillo type weekend.
Serving on a young men's or young women’s weekend. Anyone who has been to a Vida Nueva, Tres Dias, Cursillo, Emmaus or similar weekend is eligible to serve on Vida Nueva weekends.
